Sindh Shawl

A shawl, or “abochhini”, intended for a Pakistani woman; this one is composed of two fine linen panels, joined by hand and then embroidered with red and green floss silk. Roundels are unevenly scattered across the main field and each end features a border of repeating floral bouquets. Techniques used include both chain- and Sindhi-stitch, which is a combination of satin and buttonhole stitches.
