Raw Silk Kaftan
Raw Silk Kaftan
The Caftan or Kaftan (qftan) is a variation of a robe or tunic that has been worn for thousands of years by many different cultures. This article of clothing is often worn as an overdress or coat, usually with long sleeves and a length that reaches the ankles.
Originally from ancient Mesopotamia, it was worn by many middle-eastern ethnic groups. Many different styles and names vary from culture to culture and have been considered a symbol of royalty in some cultures.
This more contemporary version was made in Morocco of raw silk and edged in gold metallic embroidery work.

Keep in mind ...
Our vintage and antique pieces have traveled throughout the world and survived decades - maybe even centuries - of use. Do not expect them to be in perfect or *new* condition. Signs of their past makers and owners may be noticeable such as small holes, loose threads, & stains. In our opinion, this adds to their charm!
