Quilted Robe
Quilted Robe
This Syrian hamam robe falls in line with a Syrian urban tradition of quilting for women's apparel. It is made of gold satin silk and cotton lining with cotton padding between them. The complete robe is then stitched with a design of zigzags, chevrons and other geometric motifs. This sort of quilting technique is called trapunto and is of European origins.

Keep in mind ...
Our vintage and antique pieces have traveled throughout the world and survived decades - maybe even centuries - of use. Do not expect them to be in perfect or *new* condition. Signs of their past makers and owners may be noticeable such as small holes, loose threads, & stains. In our opinion, this adds to their charm!
