Rabari Embroidered Panel
Rabari Embroidered Panel
The Rabari is a nomadic group well known for their embroidery with origins in Rajasthan, but then settled in semi-desert areas in Gujurat. Their work is identified by their mirror (shisha) work, bright colors, motifs referencing their mythology and traditions, and use of chain and open chain stitching.
This piece is decorated with florals and geometric designs. It's unclear what it was meant to be, but may have been a waist sash or a wall hanging.

Keep in mind ...
Our vintage and antique pieces have traveled throughout the world and survived decades - maybe even centuries - of use. Do not expect them to be in perfect or *new* condition. Signs of their past makers and owners may be noticeable such as small holes, loose threads, & stains. In our opinion, this adds to their charm!
