This graphic, funky appliqué makes the perfect runner, and was originally made by hand in Gujarat, India to decorate a wall or tent.

Yellow strips are sewn to create a grid on an indigo ground with red edges on all sides. Hand-cut and appliquéd red and white flowers fill in the grid with the opposite color as the center, sometimes replaced with other colors or brocade fabrics.
