Red Velvet Bag
A velvet purse decorated with Zari embroidery. Zari, or metallic thread and jeweled embroidery, was associated with the royalty in India and considered to be one of the most detailed techniques in embroidery. The origin of the word Zari is traced back to a village of the same name in then Persia.
This bag was most likely made in Southern India and used in a wedding ceremony.
