Tunisian Veil
Veils such as this were produced in Tunisia in the village of Testour by families of Andalousian origin. They have central transparent rectangles which, when carefully draped, allow women to see without exposing their faces to strangers while displaying the intricacy of the decoration. Wide stripes of alternating white and pink are further divided by embroidered linear decoration executed with metallic ribbon embroidery.
