Tetouan Arid, or Wallhanging
Urban embroideries of Morocco are easily categorized as each metropolis produced very distinct embroideries in both design and stitchwort. Tetouan, a large city on the Mediterranean coast , produced embroideries done in long satin stitch with designs that are free hand drawn and feature flowers with serrated edges. A wall hanging like this would be hung during wedding ceremony or other festivities.
