Red Ground Sindh Shawl
This head cover (abochhini) is a dowery textile worn by married women in Northwest India and the sindh province of Pakistan.
The field of the red cotton ground is decorated with black and white round abstracted flowers. The top and bottom borders consist of bunches of flowers divided by smaller geometric borders. Techniques used include both chain- and Sindhi-stitch, which is a combination of satin and buttonhole stitches.
