Nat Figure of a Young Man
Nats are an important component of Burmese Buddhist culture. These carvings may be nature spirits, ones from mythology, or humans who have died unnatural deaths. Nats are specifically carved to be placed on pagoda platforms and Buddhist temples. Like humans, nats are regarded as disciples of Buddha.
