Composites like this were made from fragments of old embroideries, and usually, the center more significant piece is of later date. In this example, the pieces are from different cultures and islands. The various pieces vary in age, with the older pieces mixing with newer fragments. One will find pieces from Macedonia, Rhodes, and Attica, each one of different textures and graphics.
