Late Xing dragon embroidery. The silk ground and the supportive linen backing are embroidered with a side facing, four clawed, fire breathing, fierce dragon. It is surrounded by stylized clouds in a scatter design.

The high quality, tight embroidery is done with polychrome silk atop couching of cords to add a third dimension.
