Delhi Shawl
Delhi shawls were originally sashes for men but when discovered , mid 19th century, became enormously popular in Europe as accessories for women, mainly shawls. Long and narrow red twill woven wool rectangle decorated at edges with polychrome floss silk worked in satin and chain stitching. The vivid floral motifs are crammed into three botehs on each end and everything edged with narrow borders, all similarly decorated.
