Applique Throne Back Cover
This textile is an Imperial yellow cushion cover used for a throne with or without arms. There is some evidence to suggest that throne covers had ties to attach them to the chair. The appliqué decoration uses auspicious symbols and celestial landscape around a large shou character. Wide foliate borders.
