Chinese Demi Lune Tables
Pair of 19th century Camphor wood demi-lune tables with solid slab tops. The tables have waisted frames with cupped and arched aprons. Detailed in beaded edge and foliate designs with subtle red lacquer. The legs are reinforced with humpbacked cross brackets; the four legs with hoof feet. The table tops are further reinforced with “giant arms” braces.
Camphorwood(Laurel) is native to Southeast Asia. The color on camphorwood can be highly variable depending on species. Light brown with shades of gray, red, or olive color. Camphor wood is known for its beautiful grain, durability and resistance to insects.
