Brocade Caftan
The origin of the caftan in Morocco has been traced back to the Ottoman Empire, but due to the various conquests of Morocco there is no definitive timetable as to when this may have occurred. This elegant garment is made of a weighty green brocade with gold metal thread embroidered trim. The ample structure of the garment allows for other traditional under garments. The costly materials from which it was made indicates that it was made to be worn for a special occasion, and that the owner was well to do.
