Red Brocade Sari Border
This red brocade sari border was made in India, likely Gujarat, in the early 20th century. It is decorated with a processional, possibly a wedding party, that is repeated across the length of the textile. The figures are outlined in dark green and filled with gold, and the floral border is all gold. The combination of gold on red, with a touch of green, make for a very festive composition.
