Sumatran Jacket
Ceremonial jacket for a young woman, worn in the Kauer district of the western highlands of south Sumatra. The cropped style and long sleeve jacket is elaborately ornamented over its striped ground.Cotton ground with silk embroidery and mica fragments at front, sculpted cowrie shells around the neck and a supplementary weft back panel.
