Rabat Embroidery

Rectangle cover of cotton embroidered with silk in satin stitch. The hand work is completely reversible. The drawing is of small crosses enclosed within a diagonal grid which is bordered by two rows of mihrabs and further floral borders.

The whole design is made of abstracted and small leaves and flowers which are unique to this coastal city that was greatly influenced by Spanish traditions.
