Armenian Sleeves
This pair of Armenian sleeves was made in the 19th century out of cotton and silk. These sleeves would have been part of an Armenian dress. The weathered indigo tabby cotton foundation is decorated with embroidery that is done in the counted-cross-stitch technique. The design uses varied motifs such as rams horns, crosses and checkers. They are lined with striped cotton.
