Large Ikat Indigo Throw
Similar to body wraps used by both men and women of the Igarra region of central Nigeria, the size of this woven masterpiece would suggest usage as a wall hanging or throw for special social occasions. It features three panels dyed in ikat technique and then joined together. The width of the yarn is wider than the typical West African strip weaves thus requiring the special skills of the Igarra female weaver which are famous country wide.
