Serpentine Silver Armlet
Madhya Pradesh is an Indian state that has largely kept its tribal groups and traditions. Tribal jewelry from this state is sought out all over India for their unique designs and quality. The skills have been passed down through generations, with gold jewelry attributed to urban areas, and silver to rural.
This armlet would be worn by women on the forearm or bicep. Its design resembles a snake, which represents rebirth in some Indian cultures, due to its ability to shed its skin and being “reborn.”
