Ming Mandala
The mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol representing the universe in eastern religions such as Buddhism and Hinduism. The mandala has become the generic term for any diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos.
In spiritual tradition, mandala may be enjoyed for focusing the attention of practitioners and adepts as a spiritual guidance tool.
This mandala is embroidered in silk with borders in a variety of silk brocade bands that form a square. The Ying and Yang symbol is stitched in the very center divided by an S-shaped line contrasting light and dark, the positive and the negative. Symbol of opposites being in harmony and balance. The symbol has its roots in Taoism, a form of Chinese religion and philosophy.
