Syrian Hamam Robe
This Syrian hamam robe falls in line with a Syrian urban tradition of quilting for women’s apparel. It is made of gold satin silk and cotton lining with cotton padding between them. The complete robe is then stitched with a design of zigzags, chevrons and other geometric motifs. This sort of quilting technique is called trapunto and is of European origins.
