Buddha Attendant
This wooden Buddha attendant statue was made in Burma during the Shaan Dynasty, in the 18th or 19th century. The wood is carved, lacquered, and gilt, and depicts a Buddha attendant in kneeling position. The attendant’s plain costume and round, abstracted face indicate this to be of the Shaan period.
