Dida Ceremonial Skirt
The Dida tribe of Ivory Coast are traditionally fishermen.For ceremonial occasions they plait strands of fiber into loincloths, tubular skirts, mantles and kerchiefs.These then get embellished by a tie-dyeing process into fields densely packed with groups of circles, ovals, rectangles and dots in warm earth tones.
