Afghan Coat
This thick Afghan coat is made of black wool and has a middle front opening. Along the collar is a strand of zipper teeth with tassels and beads at the front of the neckline. Along the middle front, there is silver thread couched to the base with multicolored beads and thread adorning the edges. Running vertical along the entire base are 6 small stripes of red, blue and green thread. Throughout the coat there are large circles and stems in metallic thread resembling abstracted flowers. In the center of these circles and stems is embroidery in red. On the back of the coat, three circles are embroidered in blue. On the cuffs there is embroidery in yellow and red with multi colored beads and silver thread. In the center of the embroidery there is a row of circular mirrors attached to the base with yellow, blue and red thread.
